Patent confirms that aspartame is the excrement of GM bacteria "GMO"

(NaturalNews) In 1999, The Independent published an article entitled "World's top sweetener is made with GM bacteria," which revealed that Monsanto was knowingly adding aspartame to soft drinks in the United States - and that aspartame is made from GM bacteria. This report, which remains one of the earliest disclosures on aspartame in a mainstream newspaper, received little attention after its publication - possibly because its implications were underestimated at the time - and it has long been forgotten.

Since 1999, the world has become a little more attentive to Monsanto and aspartame, but ignorance still abounds about the latter's genesis. While more and more people are starting to awaken to aspartame's destructive effects on our health, do they know how it is actually made? Fortunately, a 1981 patent for aspartame production, once confined to the drawers of patent offices, is now available online for everyone to see - and it confirms everything that Monsanto was happy to tell us in 1999 before their meteoric growth necessitated greater prudence.

The production process

The patent, which is entitled Process for producing aspartame and is credited to Bahl, Rose, and White, summarizes the process as follows:

"The artificial sweetener aspartame, a dipeptide with the formula Asp-Phe-me, is produced using a cloned micrcorganism [sic]. A DNA which codes for a large stable peptide comprised of the repeating amino acid sequence (Asp-Phe)n is inserted into a cloning vehicle which in turn is introduced into a suitable host microorganism. The host microorganism is cultured and the large peptide containing the repeating Asp-Phe sequence is harvested therefrom. The free carboxyl group of the large peptide is benzylated and then hydrolysed to benzyl Asp-Phe dipeptides. This dipeptide is methylated and then debenzylated to form aspartame."

This scientific jargon obfuscates (perhaps deliberately) a truly disturbing process:

1.) 'Cloned microorganisms' (which the patent later reveals to be genetically modified E. coli) are cultivated in tanks whose environments are tailored to help them thrive.

2.) The well-fed E. coli cultures defecate the proteins that contain the aspartic acid-phenylalanine amino acid segment needed to make aspartame.

3.) The proteins containing the Asp-Phe segments are 'harvested' (i.e. lab assistants collect the bacteria's feces).

4.) The feces are then treated. This includes a process of methylation (adding an excess of the toxic alcohol, methanol, to the protected dipeptide).

While common sense dictates that this abomination doesn't belong anywhere near our bodies, the patent's authors made no secret about their belief that aspartame constitutes a safe and nutritious sweetener:

"Aspartame is not only sweeter than sucrose, but is preferable as a food to sucrose. While sucrose can provide the body with little more than energy, aspartame is composed of amino acids, the building blocks of body proteins, and like other proteins is broken down by the digestive enzymes in the stomach to its constituent amino acids thus providing nutritive value. [...] For these reasons, aspartame holds significant promise in replacing sugar as a sweetener."

So there we have it: An official document that not only reveals the shocking truth behind aspartame production, but also freely admits that it was intended for mass consumption as a sucrose substitute. Therefore, the next time someone claims that your reservations about this sweetener are unfounded, direct them to this patent - the truth behind aspartame is now in plain view.

Laws of Nature and of the Universe to Heal

The principles for health recovery or maintenance are easy; we simply have to realign our lifestyle with the Universal Laws and the Laws of Nature. No fight is required for healing, no need to conquer illnesses as illnesses can only take place when somehow we obstruct the way of perfect health. Illnesses are in fact outer healthy reactions informing us about inner unhealthy situations. Only healing is happening in this Universe

One must understand that everything in this Universe unfolds perfectly. The Great Dao, this Great Intelligence at the origin of all manifestations, restores and maintains balance within the Oneness of all in no time. The Dao is in total control, and no threat can affect that unique reality. One does not need to fight or argue for the Dao, you do not need to doubt or be afraid that something may go wrong, this is simply impossible. Everything happens within the Dao itself, within this perpetual Yin & Yang polarity. In fact, those doubts, guilt and fears, or any other negative and sustained emotional states are the tensions at the roots of all discomforts and illnesses, without exception.


If you can’t beat them join them: Surrendering to Wu Wei

The free will that is inherent to the human mind really only applies to our choice to obey to the pacifying voice of the Dao or to the confusing dualistic voice of the Ego. The free will does not apply to more than that in ones life.
 
Through stillness one can access the Wu Wei state and get direction. Action then becomes a mind-free action, an obedience to an inner impulse, not from a thinking process but from insights. The mind and intellect are then no longer the guides but the tools of the Dao that aims to manifest its perfection through us, health being part of it.
If through the free will, one would choose to follow the guidance of the Ego, and would surrender to the illusion that we can be something special, separate from the whole and holding very personal powers, this lie would be enough to throw that one in a dualistic state of perpetual tensions and non-satisfaction.

For healing or accessing the greatest amount of power, the best option offered to humanity is surely to surrender to life in all its expressions. Accepting and surrendering with no resistance is the way to complete healing and maximum power. Trying to separate yourself from the Universal Oneness to try to make yourself special, or even to fix yourself will only bring doubts, guilt and fears in your mind, and will lead you to illnesses.


So what about Qi Gong?

Qi Gong does not aim to fix health issues by directly addressing physical, emotional, or mental problems. If it was so, it would be as inefficient as any other attempt to subdue a symptom, it would strike back with more might. Qi Gong is a system that is designed to bring your awareness throughout your whole being so you can notice where your resistances are so you can drop them and allow life to flow through with no-resistance. The only deal is that you need to give yourself some time and discipline to cultivate this new lifestyle that gives the lead to the Mighty Power of the Dao over your Ego through the practice of stillness and presence. What you feel right “now” is the healing process of the Dao.
A Daoist proverb says: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best is today”. I would say the best time to plant a tree was ages ago, and since then it has always been, and will always be NOW.

Aspartame: Putting the DIE Into Dieting Since 1981

Pushed globally as a beneficial to dieters since its approval in 1981, accumulating research indicates that aspartame may actually damage the brain and cause cancer, to name but a few of a wide range of adverse health effects consumers risk by using this ‘no-calorie’ sugar alternative.
Google “aspartame” and you will find http://www.aspartame.org/ in search result position #1.  Billing itself as an ‘Aspartame Information Center,’ this website opens with “The Benefits of Aspartame,” discussing how as a ‘low-calorie’ sweetener aspartame helps consumers with weight control, diabetes and the prevention of tooth decay.

The website is the creation of an organization calling itself the Calorie Control Council (CCC), a non-profit association established in 1966 whose public mission is “…to provide an objective channel of scientific-based communications about low-calorie foods and beverages, to assure that scientific and consumer research and information is made available to interested parties.”
Ironically, Aspartame.org contains virtually no reference to primary scientific literature, rather, opts for an appeal to authority, listing a series of “Expert Opinions” on the presumed safety of aspartame.  Examples include “Science Experts,” e.g. American Diabetic Association, “Consumer Experts,” e.g.  Snopes.com, “Regulatory Experts,” e.g.  FDA, and even lists its own sponsoring organization – the CCC – as an example of an “Industry Expert,” even though its mission statement clearly identifies itself as a propaganda arm of the global low- and reduced-calorie food and beverage industry:
“The Council’s mission is to foster industry growth and vitality by reinforcing and expanding the Calorie Control Council’s role as a globally trusted authority on the safety and benefits of ingredients, foods, and beverages to facilitate the control of calories.” [emphasis added]
Of course, there is no mention of the dozens of adverse health effects linked to aspartame in the peer-viewed biomedical literature itself, and which GreenMedInfo.com indexes and provides free access to in order to provide a non-industry sponsored Aspartame Information Center.
Before we look at some of the science on aspartame’s toxicity that the industry would like consumers to overlook, let’s first debunk the primary claims put forward by the CCC’s website about aspartame’s presumptive health benefits.

Is Aspartame a Boon for Diabetics and the Overweight?

According to the CCC’s website, aspartame is good for maintaining a healthy weight and for satisfying the diabetic’s sweet tooth “without affecting blood sugar.” And yet, one of the characteristic issues with all non-nutritive sweeteners is that when you separate caloric content from the taste of sweetness you ‘short circuit’ one of the most ancient, hard-wired physiological pathways in the human body. After millions of year of evolution, our bodies were designed to anticipate the immediate availability of a simple carbohydrate (i.e. “sugar”) following the sensation of sweetness, and indeed, it automatically produces gastric secretions when tasting sweetness in what is known as the cephalic phase (cephalic = “head”) of the act of eating, the initial phase before food enters the stomach involving taste, smell, thought, etc., which accounts for approximately 20% of the gastric secretions associated with eating a meal. This means that aspartame’s intense sweetness will cause the release of neurochemicals such as dopamine and pancreatic hormones such as insulin, that latter of which signals the cellular upregulation of glucose intake. If no glucose is available, this could result in hypoglycemia and/or elevated levels of insulin, further stimulating appetite and molecular processes associated with fat-storage. This same effect may help to explain why Splenda (sucrlose) was recently found to have diabetes-promoting properties. [1]

Non-nutritive sweeteners, therefore, are not ideal weight control or diabetes aids. They could be considered endocrine disrupters, due to the way in which they disrupt the normal release of hormones like insulin, and likely contribute to insulin resistance, as well as stimulating the release of various neurochemicals that could produce addictive behavior and/or over-eating.  In fact, a 2012 study published in the journal Appetite actually found that saccharin and aspartame, compared with sucrose,induce greater weight gain in adult rats, at similar total caloric intake levels.[2]

Is Aspartame Good for your Teeth?

One of the primary reasons why consumers seek out sugar alternatives is because of the well-known increase in dental problem such as cavities in those who consume sugar-sweetened products.  While aspartame is less cariogenic than sucrose, recent research published in the journal Archives of Oral Biology indicates that it does in fact contribute to the demineralization of enamel through both stimulating acidity and bacterial biofilm formation.[3]  There is, therefore, no real scientific credibility to the CCC’s website claim that “Aspartame Does Not Promote Tooth Decay.”
Now that we have debunked two prevailing myths associated with aspartame’s perceived “benefits,” let’s move to a few of its known harms.

Aspartame Is Carcinogenic

In 2006, the Cesare Maltoni Cancer Research Center of the European Ramazzini Foundation of Oncology and Environmental Sciences released a study which revealed that aspartame can induce a wide range of malignancies in rodents, including lymphoma and leukemia, concluding that aspartame is a potential carcinogen at doses much less (20 mg/kg bw) than the current acceptable daily intake (ADI) for humans in Europe (40 mg/kg bw) and in the United States (50 mg/kg bw). .[4]
A follow-up study published in 2007 confirmed and reinforced aspartame’s “multipotential carcinogenicity” at a dose level close to the ADI for humans, including the discovery that fetal exposure results in increasing its carcinogenic effects later in life.[5]

More recently, a 2012 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutritionwhich assessed dietary pattern data from the Nurses’ Health Study (NHS) and Health Professionals Follow-Up Study (HPFS), found that men who consumed 1 or more servings of diet soda a day had on average a 31% increased risk of non-Hodgkins lymphoma and 102% increased risk of multiple myeloma, in comparison to men without diet soda consumption.

Finally, this year, a study published in the Polish medical journal Folia Neuropathologica discussed a commonly overlooked aspect of aspartame’s carcinogenicity. Aspartame, which the researchers describe as a “highly hazardous compound,” produces a metabolite known as diketopiperazine, which they described as contributing to the formation of tumors in the central nervous system such as gliomas, medullobastomas and meningiomas.[6]  Indeed, the hypothesis that increasing brain tumor rates in the US may be linked to increasing aspartame consumption goes all the way back to 1996 in the biomedical literature.[7]

The reality is that all the peer-reviewed and published scientific research in the world either for or against aspartame’s safety will not take away the most fundamental fact of toxicology: 10% of aspartame breaks down into methanol, a highly toxic compound, which itself is oxidized to the carcinogenic substance formaldehyde. It has also been hypothesized that oxidative stress caused by hydrogen peroxide release during catalase-induced metabolism of methanol to formaldehyde may contribute to aspartame’s  carcinogenicity.

Aspartame is Neurotoxic

One of the most well known problems with aspartame is that it contains 40% aspartic acid by weight, which after being ingested, metabolized and released in its free form, can generate excitotoxicity, meaning it is capable of stimulating neurons to the point of cell death. Plenty of animal research has demonstrated that aspartame caused brain damage and cognitive issues,[8] and preliminary human research indicates that fibromyalgia patients may see improvement when removing this excitotoxin from their diets.[9] [10]  For more information on the brain-damaging potential of aspartame read our article: Aspartame: Safety Approved in 90 Nations, But Damages Brain.

Conclusion

When it comes to dieting, stick with the moderate consumption of naturally sweet foods, especially high-quality, organically-produced fruits. There are also sweet substances, such as honeyxylitol and even stevia, that may provide a natural alternative to synthetic/artificial sweeteners. But be forewarned, even natural low- or no-calorie sweeteners may participate in unintended, adverse consequences of divorcing caloric content from the sensation of sweetness, subsequently stimulating appetite ‘back lash.’

As long as we remember that no form of dieting is worth dying for, and try to stay away from ‘tricking’ our body into thinking its getting something its not, we should be able to reach our ideal weight by exerting a good balance of patience and discipline with ourselves.

Dancing in the Vortex of Change

We appear to currently be in a kind of vortex, or a roiling series of etheric vortexes and scattered eddies of changing, swirling currents, carrying newly manifesting energetics as well as debris of all types, sizes and dimensions.

It’s wonderful exciting energy but it can be disconcerting at the same time.
We need to be careful to dodge the spiraling flak while maneuvering into and even reveling in the energetic vortex. It’s nothing to fear as long as we’re aware of what’s going on around us and stay on our toes.  The changes are changing and the winds are picking up.

A great time for letting go – but it will not be a pleasant ride for those who refuse to loosen their grip.
While this may seem “spacey” and weird to those not picking up on these new vibrations, this may explain the strange feelings many of you are having. But I’m convinced this is what is going on right now.

The Changes We’re Sensing

I’m certainly experiencing it and from what I’m hearing, it’s happening to a lot of people. People are wondering, “Why did I lose my job”, or “How come things just aren’t working out as I thought or hoped they would?” “Why this terrible issue with my dying relative?”
Easy.
The Universe is giving opportunities for change by nudgingly trying to change entire paradigms in our lives. And the only way to experience what Universe has for us is letting go into it and letting go of all the trappings. Old hangups, outdated understandings, wrong attachments, etc. Love is all inclusive, as well as all dissolving.
The fog in the heart must go.

And that takes commitment. Changing friends, locations, means of provision, trusting your new awake outlook, and…telling the truth. It means not going along anymore with the Lie and letting go of old habits and frames of reference. It’s imperative if we want to move on to the good stuff. Things are coming at us fast and furious and from strange directions so it’s get with the program or get knocked out of the game.

Once you get into it it’s like dodge ball in dance class with your fellow psychedelic mariners! A laughing, riotous mishmash of fun and creativity!

Dreams, Visitations and Climate Screws

There’s a sense of movement and disorientation but there’s a stillness at the same time. Many are also having profound psychic or spiritual experiences; floods of dreams, waves of spiritual intuitions, rapidly changing emotions or sensations for no reason….and perhaps spiritual revealings and even visitations of varying sorts.
Those getting the heavier doses of these experiences know what I’m talking about. It’s nothing to fear. Draw close to Source most of all but also loved ones, share what you’re going through with those you love and trust.  And let go.

And get to where you can dance to it. We can interact very consciously and poetically to anything and everything. The challenge is the changing tides of change coming at us right now. There’s not very much regularity, rhyme or reason, yet we feel called into the vortex despite the seeming chaos.
Actually, there is no choice as far as entering into the vortex. It’s here, like a massive, morphing yet loving spiritual hurricane. To handle it consciously and grow with it is the key.

The weather often parallels these changes for me. This inspiration came while weird gusting winds were blowing around our home and area, which they’ve done for days. In fact, in general the weather just feels different to me, like that expression “something’s in the air” – and it’s not just chemtrails and radiation, obvious assaults on human connectivity to consciousness.

Something wonderful this way cometh! But it ain’t anything we’ve seen before. And that’s a good thing!
So why not dive in and make an interactive dance out of it? Spiritual yoga, tai chi or a host of other rhythmic conscious disciplines. A perfect solution for releasing your ki and tuning into the essence as the changes whirl about you.

How beautiful to behold!

Know Your Way Around

I’m just trying to lay out these etheric sensations that appear to parallel the increasingly nonsensical changes we’re witnessing. Hopefully it helps others grasp the nature of this experience, but more importantly to help people know they’re not alone in all of this. We’re all together here, and we have others involved in this apparent transcendence working and manifesting at many levels.

Be aware, awake, and awash in love and the innate knowledge that all is ultimately well and under control. We are unstoppable infinite consciousness. Bottom line. Stand with conviction, spiritual warriors.

But we have to do our part. More than ever. Never negate or minimize our role. There’s a type of cosmic directive that pivots on the state of conscious awakening and our response to it. That might sound a little strange, but responding consciously is our daily commitment and lesson in life. Just floating down river with all the flotsam and jetsam is not living consciously. Think of the receding tsunami in Japan and all it carried and that’s what the world is currently experiencing – a massive backwash of debris that’s heading out to sea.
To the conscious mariners who have prepared it’s game on. And we’ll be busy trying to awaken and rescue anyone we can.

This is Not a Drill – Conscious Warriors Arise

What’s exciting is the spontaneity of our shared experience. We are encountering a time in our evolution that has perhaps never been experienced before. While the world may currently seem strictly suicidal in nature in the context of our current Machiavellian rulers’ agenda and their reign of terror, there is something wonderful happening at the same time that is much more profound.

There are many lessons to be gleaned during our stay here that are invaluable for eternity.

Number one: Our true state of being and who we are. The realization of our potential is the ultimate answer.
I realize finding our way is not a process that can easily be explained. We don’t clearly know where we are or where we came from other than by intuitive understanding and some pieces of difficult to find research. But one thing massive that we do know: we are conscious awareness discovering itself. That in itself is enough for the conscious voyager to keep going and experiencing.

Following that is truly manifesting…with great and profound assurance that we are the living and loving answer. Just as we are.  We’re each becoming the world to be, as it already is, and we should continue do so with complete confidence and authority.

Conclusion: Behold the Beauty of Change

What beauty we have the privilege to live and participate in, no matter what the circumstances. Our lives during these temporal events are filled with wonder, excitement and change – expected in some cases, and unexpected in most. If we fearfully resist what’s swirling around us and drawing us into new realms of realization and experience we’ll only meet serious disappointment, followed by sadness, angst and frustration.

That’s exactly why our state of mind and heart and living in a higher vibrational state has become imperative. When we release our old ways in order to embrace the unknown with an attitude of trust and wonder it becomes the ride of a lifetime.

Dance with it! Let go consciously with spiritual awareness and enter in! Look around, find your way, make wise decisions, detach from attachments, and don’t be afraid, even if it seems to get a bit “freaky”.
We’re in this together. They try to make us feel alone but we are all connected. We always have been and we always will be – because we always are!
I’m having my own wild and wonderful experiences I’m currently tapping into – although it can be a bit daunting when these new spiritual sensations arise and manifest I’m having a blast. But hey – would you really refuse a ticket out of here that’s clearly a path to a wonderful new world of experience that can be shared with any and all?

Take all this on as you feel led. But most of all….turn it into a powerful, consciously aware dance!
We are all entering into new horizons of living consciousness, and should utilize and enjoy it!

When Tesla invented the first wireless communication device, he also discovered a form of free energy radiating throughout the whole universe.  He planned on displaying wireless electric power with his Wardenclyffe Tower until it was sabotaged by financier J.P. Morgan.
Tesla conceded that his World Power System project was “retarded by laws of nature. The world was not prepared for it. It was too far ahead of time. But the same laws will prevail in the end and make it a triumphal success.”
Perhaps the the world is now prepared for this technology as small applications using Tesla’s discoveries are finally being revealed to the public.
In a 1900 magazine article, The Problem of Increasing Human Energy, Tesla discusses a machine that can gather heat from the ambient air and other forms of harvesting energy from the natural world.
Just a short 112 years later, in March of last year, scientists in Hong Kong built a graphene battery that turns ambient heat into electric current. This technology was picked up by UCLA researcherswho claimed this same discovery as their own, seen in the video below:
More interesting Tesla technology came out earlier this year when a German university student invented a device that harvests electromagnetic waves to charge a battery.
Two more significant achievements have been announced in this month.  One was seemingly being rolled out to acclimate the public to this coming technology, while the other quieter story is one where similar technology is already being used to power space propulsion.
Researchers from Washington University unveiled a wireless communication device called Ambient Backscatter that requires no battery.
They describe their device as:
Ambient Backscatter transforms existing wireless signals into both a source of power and a communication medium. It enables two battery-free devices to communicate by backscattering existing wireless signals. Backscatter communication is orders of magnitude more power-efficient than traditional radio communication. Further, since it leverages the ambient RF signals that are already around us, it does not require a dedicated power infrastructure.

Now try to imagine this type of self-harnessing power technology used on a larger scale. It’s currently being tested on the International Space Station.
On August 12th, the University of Maryland announced their success in powering the propulsion of satellites and the space station with a renewable electromagnetic power source. The project, sponsored by DARPA and NASA, is called RINGS (Resonant Inductive Near-field Generation System).
Besides testing electromagnetic propulsion, they also intend to use RINGS to demonstrate wireless power transfer (WPT). “WPT may offer a means to wirelessly transfer power between spacecraft and in turn power a fleet of smaller vessels or satellites.”
According to their press release:
New electromagnetic propulsion technology being tested by the University of Maryland’s Space Power and Propulsion Laboratory (SPPL) on the International Space Station could revolutionize the capabilities of satellites and future spacecraft by reducing reliance on propellants and extending the lifecycle of satellites through the use of a renewable power source.
Because a finite propellant payload is often the limiting factor on the number of times a satellite can be moved or repositioned in space, a new propulsion method that usesa renewable, onboard electromagnetic power source and does not rely on propellants could exponentially extend a satellite’s useful life span and provide greater scientific return on investment.
Associate Professor of Aerospace Engineering Ray Sedwick and his research team have been developing technology that could enable electromagnetic formation flight (EMFF), which uses locally generated electromagnetic forces to position satellites or spacecraft without relying on propellants. Their research project is titled Resonant Inductive Near-field Generation System, or RINGS.
RINGS was sent to the International Space Station on August 3 as part of a payload launched on Japan’s HTV-4 Cargo Ship from the Tanegashima Space Center. The project is scheduled for four test sessions on the research station. Astronauts will unpack the equipment, integrate it into the test environment and run diagnostics. From there, RINGS will undergo three science research sessions where data will be collected and transmitted back to the ground for analysis.
RINGS is composed of two units, each of which contains a specially fabricated coil of aluminum wire that supports an oscillating current of up to 18 amps and is housed within a protective polycarbonate shell. Microcontrollers ensure that the currents oscillate either in-phase or out-of-phase to produce attracting, repelling and even shearing forces. While aluminum wire was chosen for its low density in this research prototype, eventual systems would employ superconducting wires to significantly increase range and performance.
In the spring of 2013, RINGS was tested for the first time in a microgravity environment on NASA’s reduced gravity aircraft. UMD graduate students Allison Porter and Dustin Alinger were on hand to oversee the testing. RINGS achieved the first and only successful demonstration of EMFF in full six degrees of freedom to date.
“While reduced gravity flights can only provide short, 15-20 second tests at a time, the cumulative test time over the four-day campaign provided extremely valuable data that will allow us to really get the most from the test sessions that we’ll have on the International Space Station,” said Sedwick.
In addition to EMFF, the RINGS project is also being used to test a second technology demonstrating wireless power transfer (WPT). WPT may offer a means to wirelessly transfer power between spacecraft and in turn power a fleet of smaller vessels or satellites. Having the power to support multiple satellites, and using EMFF as a propellant-less means to reposition those same satellites, provides the flexibility to perform formation control maneuvers such as on-orbit assembly or creating synthetic aperture arrays. A synthetic aperture array uses a network of smaller antennas to function collectively as one large antenna. Larger antennas are capable of producing higher resolution images and better quality data.
And these are just some of the recent examples of the unveiling of this technology which seemed to have been largely under wraps until now.

The Fourth Phase of Water – What You Don’t Know About Water, and Really Should

Water is clearly one of the most important factors for your health—especially when you consider that your body actually consists of over 99 percent water molecules! I sincerely believe water is a really underappreciated part of the equation of optimal health.
I’ve previously interviewed Dr. Gerald Pollack, who is one of the leading premier research scientists in the world when it comes to understanding the physics of water, and what it means to your health.
Besides being a professor of bioengineering at the University of Washington, he’s also the founder and editor-in-chief of a scientific journal called Water, and has published many peer-reviewed scientific papers on this topic. He’s even received prestigious awards from the National Institutes of Health.
His book, The Fourth Phase of Water: Beyond Solid, Liquid, and Vapor, is a phenomenal read that is easy to understand even for the non-professional.
It clearly explains the theory of the fourth phase of water, which is nothing short of ground-breaking. The fourth phase of water is, in a nutshell, living water. It’s referred to as EZ water—EZ standing for “exclusion zone”—which has a negative charge. This water can hold energy, much like a battery, and can deliver energy too.
For years, Dr. Pollack had researched muscles and how they contract, and it struck him as odd that the most common ideas about muscle contraction do not involve water, despite the fact that muscle tissue consists of 99 percent water molecules.
How could it be that 99 percent of the molecules were ignored? How could it be that muscle contracts without involving the water in some way? These questions help catalyze his passionate investigation into water.

So You Think You Understand Water?

Gilbert Ling, who was a pioneer in this field, discovered that water in human cells is not ordinary water (H2O), but something far more structured and organized.
“I began to think about water in the context of biology: if water inside the cell was ordered and structured and not bulk water or ordinary water as most biochemists and cell biologists think, then it is really important,” Dr. Pollack says.
Dr. Pollack’s book also touches on some of the most basic features of water, many of which are really not understood. For example, how does evaporation take place? Why does a tea kettle whistle? Also, despite the fact that conventional science tells us freezing is supposed to occur at zero degrees Celsius, experiments show that it can freeze in many different temperatures down to minus 50 degrees Celsius.
There’s actually no one single freezing point for water! Other experiments show that the boiling point of 100 degrees Celsius (or 212 degrees Fahrenheit) does not always hold true either.
“There’s a famous website1 put together by a British scientist, Martin Chaplin. Martin lists numerous anomalies associated with water,” Dr. Pollack says. “In other words, things that shouldn’t be according to what we know about water…
The more anomalies we have, the more we begin to think that maybe there’s something fundamental about water that we really don’t know. That’s the core of what I’m trying to do. In our laboratory at the University of Washington, we’ve done many experiments over the last decade. These experiments have clearly shown the existence of this additional phase of water.”
The reason this fourth phase of water is called the exclusion zone or EZ is because the first thing Dr. Pollack’s team discovered is that it profoundly excludes things. Even small molecules are excluded from EZ water. Surprisingly, EZ water appears in great abundance, including inside most of your cells. Even your extracellular tissues are filled with this kind of water.

The Water in Your Cells Give Them Their Negative Charge

Other inherent differences between regular water and EZ water include its structure. Typical tap water is H2O but this fourth phase is not H2O; it’s actually H3O2. It’s also more viscous, more ordered, and more alkaline than regular water, and its optical properties are different. The refractive index of EZ water is about 10 percent higher than ordinary water. Its density is also about 10 percent higher, and it has a negative charge (negative electrical potential). This may provide the answer as to why human cells are negatively charged. Dr. Pollack explains:
“Everybody knows that the cell is negatively charged. If you insert an electrode into any of your cells, you’ll measure a negative electrical potential. The textbook says that the reason for this negative electrical potential has something to do with the membrane and the ion channels in the membrane.
Oddly, if you look at a gel that has no membrane, you record much the same potential – 100 millivolts or 150 millivolts negative. The interior of the cell is much like a gel. It’s kind of surprising that something without a membrane yields the same electrical potential as the cell with a membrane.
That raises the question: where does this negativity come from? Well, I think the negativity comes from the water, because the EZ water inside the cell has a negative charge. The same is true of the gel—the EZ water in the gel confers negativity. I think the cells are negatively charged because the water inside the cell is mainly EZ water and not neutral H2O.”

What Creates or Builds EZ Water?

One of the greatest surprises is that the key ingredient to create EZ water is light, i.e. electromagnetic energy, whether in the form of visible light, ultraviolet (UV) wavelengths and infrared wavelengths, which we’re surrounded by all the time. Infrared is the most powerful, particularly at wavelengths of approximately three micrometers, which is all around you. The EZ water can build on any hydrophilic or water-loving surface when infrared energy is available.
It builds by adding layer upon layer of EZ water, and can build millions of molecular layers. This is how it occurs in nature. For example, ice doesn’t form directly from ordinary H2O. It goes from regular water to EZ water to ice. And when you melt it, it goes from ice to EZ water to regular water. So EZ water is an intermediate state.
“Glacial melt is a perfect way to get EZ water. And a lot of people have known that this water is really good for your health,” Dr. Pollack says.
Testing water samples using a UV-visible spectrometer, which measures light absorption at different wavelengths, Dr. Pollack has discovered that in the UV region of 270 nanometers, just shy of the visible range, the EZ actually absorbs light. The more of the 270 nanometer light the water absorbs, the more EZ water the sample contains. EZ water appears to be quite stable. This means it can hold the structure, even if you leave it sitting around for some time. Water samples from the river Ganges and from the Lourdes in France have been measured, showing spikes in the 270 nanometer region, suggesting these “holy waters” contain high amounts of EZ water. According to Dr. Pollack, there’s compelling evidence that EZ water is indeed lifesaving…

EZ Cellular Water Helps Explain Health Benefits of Light and Heat Therapies

Heating equates to applying infrared energy, and Dr. Pollack has found that if you apply infrared, the EZ water builds and doesn’t diminish. The implications of this are profound when you consider the health benefits of sitting in an infrared sauna, for example. Essentially, one of the reasons why infrared saunas make you feel so good is because your body’s cells are deeply penetrated by infrared energy, which builds and stores EZ water. The same goes for light therapy, spending time in the sun, and laser therapy.
“There are various kinds of light therapy using different wavelengths. We found that all wavelengths – some in particular – of light, even weak light, build EZ. If EZ is critical for the health of your cells, which I think is clear, these therapies have a distinct physical chemical basis,” Dr. Pollack explains.
EZ water also provides a mechanism that explains other biological mysteries. For example, Dr. Pollack describes another fascinating finding that further bolsters our understanding of the mechanism of action behind the health benefits of something as simple as exposing your body to the light and heat of the sun:
“We found that if we put a simple tube, like a straw, made of hydrophilic material, in water… there’s water flow through the tube at high speed. This happens spontaneously. But it shouldn’t happen spontaneously. The common idea is that if you want to drive fluid through a pipe or tube, you need to apply pressure. But we have no pressure here. There’s no pressure difference between the input and output. But flow builds up spontaneously, and it keeps going.
Recently, we found that if we add light, the flow goes faster. It means that light has a particular effect; especially ultraviolet light, but other wavelengths as well. It speeds up the flow. We think that somehow the exclusion zones (EZs) are involved because inside those tubes, there’s a little annular ring of exclusion zone, and inside that is an area full of protons… It seems that the exclusion zone and the pressure of these protons are driving the flow.”
Now, let’s apply these mechanisms to your body. Your capillaries receive radiant energy from outside all the time. Energy is also received from the inside of your body, as metabolic reactions continuously generate heat or infrared. So the question is, is it possible that the flow of blood occurring through your capillaries is automatically enhanced by exposure to light? It appears the answer may be yes
“This is an important issue because the capillaries are puzzling,” Dr. Pollack says. “They’re so small. Some of the capillaries are smaller in diameter than the red blood cells that pass through them. Any competent engineer would never build a pipe that’s smaller than the junk that’s supposed to go through. But nature, apparently, has done that…
Now, that means there’s a lot of resistance. You need something to push those red blood cells through… One possibility is that the flow in your capillaries is aided by this kind of radiant energy… We’re starting to test this… It’s possible that your cardiovascular system is assisted by radiant energy in the same way that the flow in the tubes is assisted by radiant energy.”
One of the more interesting healing modalities I’ve been exploring lately is the use of a high-powered laser. The K-Laser also has frequencies in the infrared range, which can deeply penetrate tissue. This kind of laser therapy has shown to provide profound healing for many painful injuries in a very short amount of time—sometimes just minutes of treatment. While the benefits of laser therapy are thought to be due to its action on mitochondrial activity, it may very well be that the benefits are also related to “recharging” your damaged cells’ EZ water, as well as promoting increased capillary blood flow.
EZ water in your body also plays a role is in hyperbaric medicine, which is also good for injuries. In that case, your tissues are exposed to high oxygen under pressure.
“The results are in. We think we understand the mechanism as to why hyperbaric oxygen is so effective for wound healing… EZ water has a higher density than bulk water. If you take H2O and you put it under pressure, it should give you H3O2 because the EZ structure is denser than the H2O. We did the experiments and we found, indeed, that’s the case. If you put H2O under pressure, you get more EZ water.”
The same goes for oxygen. EZ also has more oxygen than H2O, and when you increase oxygen content, you get more EZ water. So, hyperbaric treatment builds EZ water in your body, particularly in injured areas where EZ water is needed.

Alkalinity and Your Body’s Negative Charge May Be Critical for Health

I personally drink vortexed water nearly exclusively as I became a big fan of Viktor Schauberger who did much pioneering work on vortexing about a century ago. Dr. Pollack found that by creating a vortex in a glass of water, you’re putting more energy into it, thereby increasing EZ. According to Dr. Pollack, virtually ANY energy put into the water seems to create or build EZ water.
“We have looked at acoustic energy that seems to effect some change in the water. We’re still not sure exactly what. Vortexed water puts enormous energy into the water. There are several groups in Europe studying this phenomenon right now. “
As mentioned earlier, EZ water is alkaline and carries a negative charge. Maintaining this state of alkalinity and negative charge appears to be important for optimal health. Drinking water can be optimized in a variety of different ways, by injecting light energy or physical energy into the water by vortexing, for example. This is fairly easy using magnets. Reversing the vortex every few seconds may even create more energy.
Clearly, more research needs to be done in this area, but some is already underway. My own R&D team is working on a careful study in which we use vortexed water to grow sprouts, to evaluate the vitality and effectiveness of the water.
As for a natural source of EZ water for drinking, an ideal source is glacial melt. Unfortunately, this is extremely inaccessible for most people. Another good source is water from deep sources, such as deep spring water. The deeper the better, as EZ water is created under pressure. In a sense, it’s as though your cells are built like batteries that are naturally recharged by spending time outdoors—whether sunny or overcast, and walking barefoot, connecting to the negative charge of the earth!
“If you have an organ that’s not functioning well—for example, it’s lacking that negative charge—then the negative charge from the earth and… [drinking] EZ water can help restore that negativity. I’ve become convinced… that this negative charge is critical for healthy function,” Dr. Pollack says.
