Obama, during his 2008 campaign and during his "campaign" to sell his signature health plan to the country, said early and often that, no matter what, Americans would be able to a) keep their current health insurance plans, and b) keep their current doctor.

As it turns out, thanks to Obamacare's new minimum coverage requirements, health insurance companies by the scores are being forced to cancel millions of current policies, because they don't comply with the law.

Hence, 'no, you can't keep your current plan after all.'

Losing your coverage? Well, heck - just 'shop around'

As reported by Breitbart News:

New York Magazine put together a supercut of 23 instances over a few years where, without qualification or even a hint of qualification, President Obama reassured every American that if "you like your private health insurance plan, you can keep your private health insurance plan." It should be noted that as recently as 2012, during his re-election campaign, Obama was still making a false promise that he likely repeated hundreds of times since 2009.

That video is here.

Just recently, under pressure for lying to Americans, Obama gave new advice for those who are losing their coverage: "Shop around."

"So if you're getting one of these letters, just shop around in the new marketplace. That's what it's for," he said during a speech in Boston (does this president ever stay in Washington and work?). "Because of the tax credits that we are offering, and the competition between insurers, most people are going to be able to get better, comprehensive healthcare plans for the same price or even cheaper than projected."

Ah, yes. Price. That's another lie. Most plans that Americans are having to sign up for now are more expensive - again, because of the minimum coverage requirements demanded by the law.

As reported by CNBC:

The fact that many current health-care plans do not offer all the benefits required under Obamacare means that many premiums are likely to jump dramatically, Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini told CNBC.

Bertolini, appearing on... "Closing Bell," said that most Americans with current plans are below the 60 percent essential Affordable Care Act benefit requirement, and individual plan participants will have to pay a minimum of a 20 percent increase to upgrade, he said.

"Aetna alone will pass through to its customers over $1 billion in taxes and fees associated with the Affordable Care Act that need to go into the pricing," he told the program.

Throwing cancer patients off their plans

It's not just their plans they are losing. Americans in droves are also losing their doctors - another promise broken by the president.

That was summed up rather dramatically in The Wall Street Journal by cancer patient Edie Littlefield Sundby, who wrote that, because of Obamacare, she was losing her plan, her doctor and, she worried, perhaps her life [http://online.wsj.com].

She wrote:

My grievance is not political; all my energies are directed to enjoying life and staying alive, and I have no time for politics. For almost seven years I have fought and survived stage-4 gallbladder cancer, with a five-year survival rate of less than 2% after diagnosis. I am a determined fighter and extremely lucky. But this luck may have just run out: My affordable, lifesaving medical insurance policy has been canceled effective Dec. 31.

My choice is to get coverage through the government health exchange and lose access to my cancer doctors, or pay much more for insurance outside the exchange (the quotes average 40% to 50% more) for the privilege of starting over with an unfamiliar insurance company and impaired benefits.

Only a sick, evil, twisted and soulless individual would support and sign a law that does things like this to people - all under the lie of "compassion."
